Santa Barbara Dermatology, Dr. Patricia Stewart, D.O.
Orcutt and Santa Barbara, CA
For the past five years I have had the privilege of being a medical assistant and more recently I was promoted to office manager. I have been able to learn tasks which include rooming patients, taking a brief history to determine the reason for visit, assisting the doctor with minor procedures such as skin biopsies and cyst removals as well as major procedures like melanoma excisions. I have also had the opportunity of working with other medical professionals such as pharmacists when calling in prescriptions and answering refill requests, laboratory technicians to gather patient lab results and provide clinical images of specific, unique cases, and other physicians to determine previous treatments and procedures. Throughout this experience I have learned a vast array of knowledge and all of this experience has helped expand various personal and professional skills.
